I LIKE my morning coffee.
Who’s with me?
I think it’s popular—people like their morning coffee, right? It’s a new day, a new dawn. You wake up, pour a cup, and ponder the day ahead of you. You feel like you could take on the world. Everything seems possible…your list of to-dos seem totally do-able.
But besides these obvious reasons, I also like my morning coffee because I turn into a pet magnet.
I am most popular with the pets during this brief but precious period. When they hear me pour my cup, they run to the couch anticipating the CUDDLE SESH that is about to ensue.
It may seem not very interesting. But for me, it’s one of life’s perfect moments, and so I want to document it here, in the things that I like. I take my cup, shuffle to the couch (or porch in the nicer months) and I become the lead in an animal parade. Once we are all settled together in a pile, the baby talk begins…”WHO IS THE BABIEST BABES OF THE BABIES IN BABYLAND??” My husband loves this.
Experience it with me in the videos below. I recommend putting the sound on for the first one. You can hear the beautiful sound of the clothes clanging in the dryer which only enhances the peaceful morning vibe. Unfortunately, in the second one, you can hear my husband sighing as he does his floor exercises right near me…less enhancing, for sure.
I think it’s me that they love. But maybe it isn’t. Turns out animals and coffee go way back. Goats were allegedly the first to discover coffee. An Ethiopian legend says that a goat herder noticed his goats became energized after eating berries (coffee) from a certain tree.
Or, maybe it’s because they know when I get my coffee, I feed them. Hmmm. now that I am thinking about it more…it might be that. Well, whatever the reason, I like mornings, sipping coffee, and petting pets! Its the perfect trifecta. If you try it, just watch out for those pet hair floaters in your morning cup. :)
