I LIKE being lippy.

Here’s why:

Lips are kind of confusing. They can be thought of as luscious love pillows one minute (me to my husband: “XXX”) …or vile bacteria-passing orifices the next. (me to my son: “Please just stop licking me!”). Either way, there’s something about LIP PATTERNS lately that I am really into.

I used to think lip patterns were cheesy. You know, like the old Rolling Stones logo graphic. I know some of you will disagree with that (you to me: “What? It’s classic!”) but it just never rang my bell. In fact, I can’t help but say “Ew” in my head every time I see it.

Ew. See?

Lips aren’t just confusing. They are also f*cking weird.

But in a good way. I am always drawn to abstract pictures of lips—They just aren’t normal looking when you take them off a face, and I like that. They look super edgy and happy and bizarre all at the same time.
